The end of the school year is here and if your house is anything like mine, there is a little bit of craziness that goes along with it. End of year tests, parties, banquets, awards ceremonies, field days and coordinating teacher gifts are just a few of the things cluttering the calendar. Enjoying the beautiful weather is also a top priority! Before you know it the kids will be home for the summer and "I'm bored" will be echoing through the hallways. So what's a parent to do? This summer we've made the answer easy. I've teamed up with over 100 bloggers in cities across the country to bring you "staycation" ideas for an area near you. So get out your calendars and start filling them up with frugal and fun ideas to keep the kiddos entertained this summer... and maybe even learn a thing or two!
Below you will find fun and frugal ways to explore my local area, Lake Norman, NC (Cornelius, Davidson, & Huntersville), just north of Charlotte. If you don't live in this area be sure to check back tomorrow when I will post a list of over 100 bloggers who have done the same thing for their local area. With over 100 different towns covered you should have no trouble finding frugal fun near you!
